This article describes how physicists discovered the limitations of classical physics and developed the main concepts of the quantum theory that replaced them in the early decades of the 20th century. In my paper, I will attempt to explain how the foundations of “Eastern” religions resemble the foundations of quantum theory (if they do not prove to be identical), and how the concepts of quantum physics identify with the concepts underlying these religions and philosophies. As one of the oldest subjects in science, the work here serves as a basis for less familiar areas such as relativity and quantum mechanics. €Einstein's theory of relativity” and the field of quantum mechanics in turn touch almost every other field in physics. €Newton's laws of motion” underlie all . These in turn provided crucial concepts for the development of “quantum mechanics”. The ideas expressed in ancient Chinese culture and philosophy, however, were supposedly “developed in isolation” from the rest of the world. A crucial set of laws for classical mechanics are those proposed by Isaac Newton. To me, the alleged path interference or superposition in the double slit is a different conceptual problem to that of the collision (or not) of QM (and nature) with local-realism.
